Then, at University it shaped up into what best represented what I was looking for: narrating through sound, with sound. In my second year at University, when I took the course Sound, which I currently teach, I started to specialize in location sound. By the middle of third year, I was working as an intern at the sound department of the school, where a new wave started to vibrate in me: post-production.
That same year, I decided to set up my own studio, where I could experiment with sound through play as well as shape my projects with an integral sound narrative, from script to mix. This is how “Mantra Sonido” was born.
With this purpose in mind, I took over the projects I was assigned and provided them with a customized sound identity that would meet their specific needs. This allowed me to learn to be flexible and to tailor my proposals to each client.
In 2021, I started working as a lecturer and I learnt as much as I taught, sharing with my students the same ideas I would take into account when working on my projects. It was also in 2021 that I wrote my thesis entitled “Sound as an immersive film experience”, which implied doing a lot of research and delving into contents, from which my teaching practice got feedback.
In 2022, I was fortunate to work in several projects with Quetzal Sonido, where I had first-hand experience with more complex and renowned movies. This experience enabled me to develop better judgment and acquire better tools. In addition, that year I submitted and successfully defended my thesis, earning my Bachelor’s Degree.
In 2025 I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and earned the Sound Design Master of Fine Arts degree, with a GPA of 4.0
With this brief personal overview, I intend to share my motivations and achievements but, mainly, to express my desire to continue growing professionally and artistically, further developing both technical and esthetic skills.
